I did NOT want to exercise tonight! This is why I needed a gym buddy. If I were doing it on my own, there is no way I would have exercised. Thankfully, my nephew showed up at his usual time and we went to work.
I've been doing well watching my calories this week. I made a pot roast on Monday, which is one of my favorite meals, but is also one of the worst cuts of meat, health wise. It is loaded with fat! I made sure to weigh out 6 ounces of beef for dinner and 4 ounces for my lunch the next day and was able to enjoy a favorite meal and not go over my calorie limit.
I got a call from Dad tonight and he is having a family dinner on Sunday, so I know that will be my blow-off day for the week. It normally is Sunday anyway, but it's always good to know in advance. I hate when I take a blow off day early in the week and then something else comes up! All these bad habits are hard enough to break without extra hurdles.
It's funny, I started posting the old blog info just for filler, but it's helping me. In my mind, everything happened so fast last time, I started dropping weight right away. Looking back it took about 2 or 3 weeks. I also remember that I hit the gym hard and started going 5x a week within 2 weeks or so. Nope! That took a month! It's helping me put things back in perspective and is a good reminder that I did it once, so I can do it again. Also by doing it at home, in the evenings I'm hoping I'll be able to keep going. One of the main reasons I quit 4 years ago was I got tired of getting up at 5 AM. I don't want to have to worry about that again!
