Plateau Busted!!

Like I said previously, last weekend I tried to shock my metabolism and bust through this plateau with a calorie splurge.  I also lowered my calorie limit from 2130 per day to 2000 per day.  I doubt the change in numbers had much to do with it, but something did because I finally broke through the 20 lb barrier!

Friday, I weighed in and was down 0.6 of a pound.  I was a little pessimistic about that because it seemed too soon for any change to happen and thought it might be a fluke, so I double checked on Saturday and I was down another 1.6 pounds!  Then, just for shits and giggles, I checked this morning and I was down another 1.8 pounds...  That's when the wheels fell off my wagon.  There's no way I could have lost 4 pounds in 3 days, so I figured it was time to change the batteries in the scale. 

I grumbled a little to myself, but after coffee I went up and changed the batteries and weighed myself again.  Sure enough, I was back up to where I was last week.  I grumbled a little more and went and took a shower, trimmed my toe-nails and as I was throwing the clippings away, stepped on the scale again.  I was back to where I was this morning with a 4lb loss from Thursday!  At this point, I'm calling it official and will stay off the scale until Friday!

Unfortunately plateaus happen during weight loss.  Don't give up!  Ride it out for a couple weeks and if nothing changes, try something different.   Maybe you're eating too few calories and you need to increase them, maybe you are eating too may and need to cut back.  Make some small changes, but DON'T GIVE UP!!!  Also remember that it might take 2 or 3 weeks for a change to show results.  Eat less, exercise more and you'll lose weight.

So for the first time since March 18th, I can post that I weighed in  and I lost 4 pounds this week.


On January 2nd I weighed in at 370.6 pounds
On April 28th I weighed in at 346.2 pounds
So far, that's 6.58%.
